The Heros of Independance

    Hoang Dieu, Nguyen Van Troi, and Phan Chau Trinh are some of the heros of  Freedom and Independence.  What?  Not familiar with those who fought for "life liberty and the pursuit of happiness?"  These people along with Ho Chi Minh are memorialized on the 45meter high Da Nang City Monument pictured below.  We were visiting the Tet flower market when I spotted the monument and I knew instantly what it was and had to honor the sacrifices of those warriors.  I will include many pictures of beautiful flowers in my next post.  For now I want to honor those who served their country.

    Once upon a time, in a time that seems to be before time, below time, beyond time.  These heros were my enemy.  Today I honor the sacrifice they made for the freedom of their country and I salute them.
